Copy and next season
Two shortcuts save retyping. Duplicate copies an event with the same dates, for posting a parallel event like the girls’ version. Copy to Next Season copies it with the dates moved to the same weekday next year. Both are for the host’s contributors and admins.
Copy to next season on Our Season is a different tool. It copies your team’s whole schedule to the same weekday of the same week of the month, marked tentative, and posts nothing. See Our Season.
Duplicate
Section titled “Duplicate”- Open the event and choose More > Duplicate in the host panel, or select Duplicate in the event’s row on My Events (in the Show as spreadsheet view).
- The Duplicate Event form opens with everything filled in.
- Change what’s different, like the name or divisions.
- Select Post event.
A duplicate copies every field, including the flyer, registration link, and bracket links. The status is reset to Open.
Copy to next season
Section titled “Copy to next season”- Open the event and choose More > Copy to Next Season in the host panel. After an event ends, you can also use Post next season’s event in the note at the top of its page, or Post next season on My Events (turn on Include past events and Show as spreadsheet to see it).
- The Post Next Season’s Event form opens with a note: “Copied from last season with the dates moved to the same weekday a year later.”
- Check the details, and add this year’s registration link and bracket links.
- Select Post event.
What changes in the copy:
| Field | In the copy |
|---|---|
| Dates | 52 weeks later, so the same weekday |
| Registration deadline | Moved 52 weeks too |
| Name | A year in the name moves forward: “2026 Pierz Invitational” becomes “2027 Pierz Invitational”, “2026-27” becomes “2027-28” |
| Status | Open |
| Registration link | Cleared |
| Bracket links | Cleared, for the event and each division |
| Flyer | Not copied |
| Forms | Copied as drafts, due dates moved with the event, to check and send again. See Forms. |
| To-dos | Copied as not done, with the same people and vendors and needed-by days moved with the event. See To-dos and vendors. |
Everything else carries over: location, divisions, styles, contact and How coaches reach you, wait list setting, teams wanted, entry fee, times (on the same days of the new dates), weigh-in details, membership, and notes.
Nothing is posted until you select Post event.
Repost reminder
Section titled “Repost reminder”After an event ends, the host gets an email: “Post next year’s Pierz Invitational?” Its Post next season’s event button opens the copied form, the same as Copy to Next Season.
- It’s sent once, about a day after the event ends.
- It goes to the person who posted the event, or to the organization’s admins if that person is no longer a contributor or admin there.
- It isn’t sent for cancelled events, or when the event has already been copied.
- Turn it off with “Post next year’s event?” reminders under Account Settings > Email Notifications. If the person who posted the event has it off, the organization’s admins get the reminder instead.
Rules and limits
Section titled “Rules and limits”- You can copy events of your own organizations only. The copy is posted for the same organization.
- The duplicate check still runs: if a similar event is already posted for those dates in the same state, you’ll see “This might already be posted.” With Duplicate, the original event usually shows up there. Select It’s a different event to go on.
- If your organization isn’t verified yet, the copy counts toward its limit of 5 upcoming events. See New organizations and reports.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Duplicate and Copy to Next Season are with the host tools at the top of the event page. My Events has Duplicate for upcoming events and Post next season for past ones.
