Co-ops

A co-op is two or more schools whose students wrestle as one team. On Wrestling Aide the co-op is one organization: its coaches join it, it posts and attends events, and it has one schedule on Our Season, one team size, and one set of season limits.

  • With its own name. Scott West is Jordan High School and Belle Plaine High School wrestling together. Scott West is its own organization, listed like a high school and marked Co-op. One of its schools is the primary school: the co-op uses that school’s address, so drive times to and from Scott West start there.
  • Under one school’s name. Hopkins wrestles with students from Jefferson, under the Hopkins name. Hopkins stays the organization, and Jefferson is listed as a school it wrestles with.

A school wrestles with one co-op at most.

  • Searching for any of a co-op’s schools finds the co-op. Search “Belle Plaine” and you get Scott West, with “Co-op of Jordan High School, Belle Plaine High School” under it. The member schools themselves aren’t listed, so nobody joins or adds the wrong one. This works everywhere you pick a school: the Welcome page, Add a team for Teams Attending, and the host school on Our Season.
  • A member school’s own page says which team it wrestles as, with Go to Scott West in place of the join button.
  • The co-op’s page shows a Co-op badge, and lists its schools under Details, with the primary marked.

Site admins set up co-ops, under Site Admin > Organizations. If your team is a co-op that isn’t set up yet, use Feedback at the bottom of any page to name the team and its schools.

  • Only site admins set up, change, or end co-ops.
  • A co-op needs at least two schools, and up to 12.
  • When a co-op ends, its schools wrestle on their own again. A co-op with its own name keeps its page, members, and events.
  • History doesn’t move between a school and its co-op: events a school posted before it joined the co-op stay with the school.
