Email notifications

The Email Notifications section of the Account Settings page turns each kind of email on or off. Every switch starts on, and changes save as soon as you flip them.

Setting What it controls
Changes to my organization’s events made by someone else Activity emails when someone edits, changes the status of, cancels, or updates the flyer of one of your organization’s events, and “joined the wait list” emails. Activity emails go to the person who posted the event and the organization’s admins; “joined the wait list” emails go to the person who posted the event, or to the admins when that person no longer posts for the organization. You’re never emailed about your own changes. Also the Monday reminder of host changes waiting on Our Season.
Requests to join my organizations (admins) The email admins get when someone asks to join, and the reminder when a request has waited 7 days.
“Is this event still open?” check-ins The three-weekly status check-in for events you posted. See Check-in emails.
“Post next year’s event?” reminders The repost reminder after an event ends. See Copy and next season.
Saved searches: new matching events and teams All saved search emails, and the “New event for your post” emails from your team posts.
Changes to events I’m watching Status change emails for events you watch.
Registration deadline reminders The reminder three days before a watched event’s registration closes.
Messages from other coaches An email for each new message in your conversations. Turned off, messages still arrive in Messages. See Messages.
Weekly summary instead One email on Monday mornings in place of each saved search’s and post’s own emails. Off: each one arrives as it’s set, right away or in the daily digest.

With Daily digest chosen on a saved search or a Teams Looking post, its matches wait for one email each morning instead of arriving one at a time. The subject is like “3 new matches for your saved searches”. Each item links to the event or post. Event matches say which saved search or post they matched; team matches start with “Team looking:”. Reopened events are marked “Reopened:”. Events that closed or were cancelled before the digest went out are left out.

With Weekly summary instead on, the same email comes once a week, on Monday morning, and covers the whole week. It applies to all your saved searches and posts, whatever each one is set to, and each one says so.

Matches that wait for a digest don’t show under the bell; they’re only in the digest email.

On Mondays, contributors and admins also get a line for each upcoming date on Our Season with host changes still to review. With no saved search matches that week, the subject is like “2 events on your season have changes to review”. Turn these lines off with Changes to my organization’s events made by someone else.

Each saved search and post has its own frequency, Right away or Daily digest, and that’s what decides, unless the weekly summary is on.

  • Saved search and post emails end with Stop these emails. It opens a page with a Turn off button that stops that one saved search or post’s emails. Mail apps with their own Unsubscribe button use the same link.
  • Every email ends with a Notification settings link to the Account Settings page.

These always send, because they answer something you did or something you need to act on:

  • Invites to join an organization, the answer to your join request, and “Your request to join … closed” when nobody answered in 21 days.
  • “You’re now an admin of …”, when the only admin deleted their account and you took over.
  • “Your event is hidden for now” after reports, and “Your event is back up” or “Your event was removed” after a site admin decides.
  • “Spots may be open”, sent to teams on a wait list when the event reopens.
  • “Organization wrestling schedule: N changes”, sent once a day to the addresses a coach listed under Email changes to on Our Season. To stop it, a contributor or admin removes the address there. It doesn’t show under the bell.
  • Login emails, like confirming your email address, resetting your password, or a notice that your login changed.

Almost every email also shows under the bell at the top right, so you can catch up without your inbox. Turning an email off here also keeps it out of the bell, except messages from other coaches, which still show there. See Notifications.

  • Emails go to the email address you log in with.
  • Emails only go to confirmed accounts.
  • Former members of an organization stop getting its activity emails.
