Invite page
The invite page opens from the link in an invite email, at an address like /invite/<code>. It shows which organization invited you and with what role, and lets you accept.
Organization admins send invites from the Members page. Accepting an invite adds you with the role already set, so there’s no request for an admin to approve.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”The heading is “Join” plus the organization’s name. Under it: who invited which email address, and as which role, like “Jamie Smith invited [email protected] as Contributor.”
What comes next depends on the invite and whether you’re logged in:
| Situation | What you see |
|---|---|
| Logged out | Create an account and Log in. Both bring you back to this page afterward. Use the invited email address. |
| Logged in with the invited address | Accept invite. You land on the organization page with “You’re a member of” the organization and your role, or “You’re an admin of” it when you were invited as Admin. |
| Logged in with a different address | “This invite is for address, and you’re logged in as your address. Log out and log in with address, or ask name to invite your address instead.” with a Log out button. |
| Invite expired, revoked, or used | “This invite has expired, was revoked, or was already used.” with the name of the person to ask for a new one. |
| Link incomplete | “Invite Not Found”, with a reminder to use the whole link from the email. |
Invites last 14 days, and they only work for the email address they were sent to. Log in with that address, or create an account with it from this page. An account created from the invite with the invited address needs no emailed code. If you use a different address, ask the admin to send a new invite to it.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”The page works the same way. Create an account and Log in wrap onto two lines if the screen is narrow.
