Getting around

The main sections are tabs across the top of every page, under the header. The header has the logo and site name (which take you to the home page), the current season in the middle (for example “Current season: 2026-27”; seasons run September 1 to August 31; hidden on phones and narrow windows), your organization, the notification bell, the help button, the State dropdown, the account menu, and Log in and Sign up when you’re logged out.

Tabs appear as they apply to you:

Tab Who sees it What it’s for
Events Everyone Search events in your state. If you haven’t picked a state yet, it opens the home page to choose one. See Events list page.
Teams Looking Everyone Teams that want events on their dates. See Teams Looking board.
My Events Contributors and admins of an organization Your organizations’ events with status and interest counts, plus your team’s posts. See My Events.
Our Season Members of an organization Your team’s schedule for this season and next (and earlier seasons under Previous Seasons): dates by division in a list, week, or month, with times and bus, your state’s event limits, the AD checklist, warnings, blackout dates, team size, and events that fit open dates. See Our Season.
Messages Anyone logged in Conversations with hosts and teams. A red number counts conversations with unread messages. See Messages.
Saved Searches Anyone logged in Your saved searches and the events you’re watching. See Saved Searches page.

Your account and the site admin tools are in the account menu at the top right, and help is the ? button. See Header.

Post an event is a button at the top of Events, and Post event is a button on My Events and your organization’s page. Teams Looking has Post that we’re looking at the top. There’s no tab for your organization’s page; open it from the organization switcher, from Account Settings > Organizations, or from any event it hosts.

On Events and Teams Looking, the filters are in a sidebar on the left of the page: Level, Gender, Dates, and Event type (Wants on Teams Looking), then More filters with distance and the rest. It stays in place while the results scroll, and scrolls on its own if More filters makes it taller than the window. See Search and filters.

From left to right:

  • The logo and site name, which take you to the home page. See Home page and your state.
  • Your organization (logged in, when you belong to one). See the next section.
  • The bell (logged in): your latest notifications, with a red number for unread ones. See Notifications.
  • Help (the ? button): on the pages people use most (events, an event, Teams Looking, Our Season, My Events, posting an event, saved searches, messages, welcome, an organization, and Account Settings), it opens Help for This Page, a panel with short answers to common questions and Open the full help article. On other pages it opens the article.
  • State: a dropdown of the states the site serves. See Home page and your state.
  • The account menu: a person icon when you’re logged in, a gear when you’re logged out. Logged in, it has Account Settings, Site Admin (site admins only), and Log Out. It always has Send Feedback and the display settings.
  • Log in and Sign up when you’re logged out.

Pages with several parts have a menu on the left: Account Settings, Our Season, each organization’s pages, each event’s pages, and Site Admin. The page you’re on is highlighted. On a phone the menu is a button above the page that names the page you’re on; tap it to open the list, and tap a page (or anywhere outside the list) to close it. A short menu that fits on one line, like an organization’s for visitors, stays a row of links.

When you belong to an organization, its name appears in the top bar.

  • One organization: the name is a link to its page.
  • Several organizations: the name opens a menu headed Acting For. Pick the organization you’re working for now.

The organization you pick is the starting point for distances, the default host on Post event, and the default team for Post That We’re Looking and for Writing for in messages. The browser remembers your choice. (The Your Team panel on an event page shows a line for each team you can act for.)

On a phone, the switcher shows your organization’s icon only; the menu names it.

The home page always shows Choose Your State: a map with the states the site serves highlighted, and a button for each. Pick one to open its events. The logo takes you back here any time.

To skip the home page when you log in, set Your state on your Account Settings page. Logging in from the home page then opens that state. When you’re logged in without one, the home page has a hint pointing you to Account Settings.

To switch states, use the State dropdown in the header, to the right of the ? Help button. On Events or Teams Looking, it opens the same page for the new state and keeps your filters. On other pages, it opens that state’s events.

Each state has its own address, such as /mn for Minnesota. The Level dropdown at the top of the filters sidebar on Events and Teams Looking has All levels, High school, Middle school, and Youth and club. Each level has its own address you can bookmark or share:

  • /mn, /mn/high-school, /mn/middle-school, /mn/youth
  • /mn/teams-looking, /mn/teams-looking/youth, and so on

The level you pick changes which filters show. Youth and club has Age division and a Born in helper; High school and All levels have Varsity / JV. Style and Membership required are only on All levels and Youth and club.

Filters are kept in the address too, so a bookmarked or shared link opens the same search.

Event pages have addresses like /mn/events/1234-pierz-invitational. They work for anyone, logged in or not.

The account menu at the top right (a gear when you’re logged out, a person icon when you’re logged in) has a Display section: Match Device, Light, or Dark. Match Device follows your phone or computer’s setting. When you’re logged in, the same menu has Account Settings and Log Out.

Have an idea, want something to work differently, or found a bug? Choose Send Feedback in that menu, or Feedback at the bottom of any page. Pick A feature request, A change, or A bug, describe it, and choose Send feedback. It goes by email to the people who run the site, with the page you were on. When you’re logged in, they can reply to your account’s email; logged out, leave an email if you’d like a reply.

Small actions repeated on each row of a list or table, like edit, remove, or move up, are icons: a pencil, a trash can, an arrow. Point at one, or tab to it, to see what it does; screen readers read the same words. A page’s main actions keep their words.

Saving shows a short green note that rises from the bottom of the screen, like “Team size saved.” or “Status changed to Full.”, and goes away after 2 seconds. If a save doesn’t go through, the problem shows on the page, next to what you were saving, and stays until you fix it.

The app works the same on a phone and a computer, with a few layout changes on small screens:

  • The header fits on one row: the logo (the site name and season are left off), your organization’s icon, the bell, the State dropdown (showing the two-letter code, like MN), and the account menu. The ? Help button is hidden; use Help at the bottom of the page. The tabs sit under it without their icons; swipe them sideways if they don’t all fit.
  • On Events and Teams Looking, there’s no filters sidebar. Choose Filters in the results bar to open the same filters in a sheet from the bottom of the screen, and Show results to close it. The results bar sticks to the top as you scroll.
  • On an event page, Message and Register stay at the bottom of the screen.

When you’re logged in, a Start here card on Events lists three steps: check your organization’s address, save a search, and post that your team is looking. Close it with the X once you’re done; it stays closed in that browser.
