Search and filters

The Events page lists every posted event in your state that still has room. Filters narrow it to what fits your team. Anyone can search, with or without an account.

The page opens with events that haven’t ended yet, whose status is Open or Near capacity, and whose registration deadline hasn’t passed, soonest first.

  1. Check the state in the State dropdown at the top right of the page, next to the ? Help button.
  2. Pick a level in the Level dropdown at the top of the Filters sidebar on the left: All levels, High school, Middle school, or Youth and club. Each level has its own address, like /mn/youth. A line under the page heading says what the level covers.
  3. Set the filters you care about below it: Gender, Dates, and Event type. Results update as soon as you pick.
  4. Set Distance from to see how far each event is, then open More filters for the less common ones.
  5. Choose a Sort and a view (Compact, List, or Map) in the results bar.

The Level dropdown has All levels, High school, Middle school, and Youth and club. Choosing one opens that level’s page, like /mn/high-school. The line under the page heading says which season the level follows.

Switching levels keeps the filters you already set, except that High school and Middle school drop a Style filter, since those events are folkstyle.

On a computer the filters sit in a sidebar titled Filters, to the left of the results. The sidebar stays in place while you scroll through the results. It’s never taller than the window: when More filters is open and doesn’t fit, the sidebar scrolls on its own while the page stays put. The filters come in this order:

Filter What it does
Level The level, described above.
Gender Any gender until you pick Boys/Co-ed or Girls.
Dates Any dates until you pick one of This weekend, This week, Next week, This month, Rest of this season, Next season (the label names the season, like “Next season 2027-28”), or Date range…, which shows From and To. An event matches when any of its days fall in the range.
Event type Any type until you pick Individual tournament, Dual, Dual tournament, Tri, Quad, or Other.
Distance from and Within How far events are from a ZIP code, a city, your location, or your organization. See Distance and drive time.
More filters The rest, listed below. It’s closed unless one of its filters is in use.

To clear one filter, select the × in its box.

Weeks run Monday to Sunday. This weekend is Saturday and Sunday of the current week. This month runs from today to the end of the month. Rest of this season runs from today through August 31. Next season is all of the next season, September 1 through August 31, for planning once your season is over.

Once any filter is on, Clear all appears at the top of the sidebar. It removes every filter but keeps your view, sort, and starting point. It also turns Registration still open back on.

More filters has these, in this order:

Filter What it does
Within Appears once there’s a starting point. Limits results by drive time or miles. With a limit set, its hint reads “Includes nearby states”: results include events across the state line.
Age division and Born in Only on Youth and club. Pick one or more age divisions, or type a birth year to find the right one.
Varsity / JV Only on All levels and High school.
Style Folkstyle, Freestyle, Greco-Roman. Only on All levels and Youth and club. High school and middle school events are folkstyle, so switching to those levels drops a style filter.
Keyword Matches the event name, host organization, city, or venue. It finds the event whatever its status or registration.
Status Pick any mix of Open, Near capacity, Full, and Cancelled. Leave it empty for open and near-capacity events, plus full events with a wait list.
Season The current season or the next one, e.g. 2026-27.
Membership required USA Wrestling card, AAU, None, or Other. Only on All levels and Youth and club.
Organization type Only events hosted by, say, youth clubs.
Skip our blackout dates Only for members of an organization. Hides events on the blackout dates your team set on Our Season, using the organization you’re acting for.
Registration still open On by default. Hides events whose registration deadline has passed; events with no deadline stay in. Turn it off to see them.

Narrow screens have no sidebar. Select Filters in the results bar to open the same filters in a sheet from the bottom of the screen. Once filters are on, the button shows how many, like “Filters (3)”. Select Show results to close the sheet, or Clear all to start over.

Level, gender, varsity/JV, and age division must all match the same division of an event. A search for Girls and JV finds events with a girls division that has JV. It skips an event that has a boys JV division and a girls varsity-only division. See Divisions and age groups.

  • Date: soonest first (the default).
  • Newest: most recently posted first.
  • Distance: closest first. Shown once you have a starting point.

When you’re logged in, events posted since your last visit show a New badge. The markers stay for the rest of your browser session.

  • Events that have ended drop out of search, unless you pick a Date range… that starts in the past. Their pages still work.
  • Events hidden after reports don’t show in search.
  • Results load 60 at a time. Show more loads the next batch.
  • The keyword is limited to 100 characters.

The State dropdown is in the header, to the right of the ? Help button. On Events or Teams Looking, picking another state opens the same page for that state and keeps your filters. On a phone it shows the two-letter code, like MN.

The Events tab at the top of every page. The Teams Looking board uses the same kind of filters for teams that want events. See Teams Looking.
