Tell hosts your team is looking
When you have an open date, post a Teams Looking post. Hosts with a matching event see your team and message you, you see the events that fit right away, and you get an email when a new one is posted.
1. Post your post
Section titled “1. Post your post”-
Open Teams Looking and choose Post that we’re looking. If you post for more than one organization, pick the Team.
-
When: choose A date or range and fill in From and To, or choose Specific dates and add each date that works (Jan 10 or Jan 17) with Add a date.
-
What You’re Looking For:
- The divisions, the same way as on an event: level plus Boys/Co-ed or Girls, with Varsity and JV for high school and Age divisions for youth. For youth, leave all ages unchecked if any age works.
- Style, which shows when you check a youth division or leave the divisions unchecked (high school and middle school are folkstyle).
- Kinds of events (check every kind you’d take: dual, tri, individual tournament, and so on).
- Longest drive (minutes) from your organization, or leave it empty for any distance. (Some sites use Farthest distance (miles) instead.)
- Team size, such as About 12 JV wrestlers.
- Check We could host a dual or tri on these dates if you’d also host. Your post then shows Can host.
- Notes for anything else.
-
Contact: under How coaches reach you, keep Through Wrestling Aide messages so hosts message you, or choose to show your email and phone. The name, email, and phone start with yours.
-
Emails About New Events: choose As they’re posted or In a daily digest, and whether to hear Also when a matching event reopens.
-
Choose Post that we’re looking.
2. See what fits now
Section titled “2. See what fits now”After posting you land on your post: Your post is posted. Hosts can find you, and here are the events that fit right now. Events That Fit lists open and near-capacity events with a matching division, style, and kind of event on your dates, within your travel limit. Events on your team’s blackout dates (set on Our Season) are left out.
For each one that looks good:
-
Open the event and choose Message the host. If the event has a Register button, sign up there too.
-
When you’re going, tap We’re attending in the Your Team panel on the event page.
My Events also lists your team’s posts under We’re Looking for Events with how many events fit each one.
3. Hear about new events
Section titled “3. Hear about new events”Your post also works as a saved search. When a new event that fits is posted, you get “New event for your post: [event]”. If you left Also when a matching event reopens on, you also hear when a full event that fits opens up again. Each email has a link to stop emails for that post.
Hosts see your post on the Teams Looking board and under Teams Looking in the menu of their own event pages. They reach you with Message this team (or Message teams, which writes to every fitting team at once). You get an email for each message, and anyone who posts for your organization can reply from Messages. See Messages.
4. When you’ve found an event
Section titled “4. When you’ve found an event”Open your post and choose We found an event. It’s marked filled, taken off the board, and its emails stop. If plans fall through, choose Still looking to open it again. Use Edit to change dates, divisions, or contact.
A post ends on its own after its last date. Its page then says These dates have passed.
Respond to teams looking (hosts)
Section titled “Respond to teams looking (hosts)”If you’re hosting and need teams, browse Teams Looking. It has the same Level dropdown and filters sidebar as Events, with Wants (the kind of event) in place of Event type, and Can host under More filters. Open a post and choose Message this team. To hear about new posts, choose Save search on the board. On your own event’s page, Teams Looking in the menu already lists the posts that match it.
