Troubleshooting

Find your problem below and work down the list. If none of these fix it, ask your organization’s admin, who can reach the site admin.

  1. Check spam and promotions folders. Mark the message as not spam so later ones arrive.
  2. Check the switch. On your Account Settings page, under Email Notifications, make sure the switch for that email is on. Emails the app sends lists which switch controls which email.
  3. Check the timing. Saved search emails set to a daily digest arrive once each morning. If Weekly summary instead is on in your Account Settings, every saved search waits for Monday morning. Right-away saved searches take a minute or two. Check-in emails only go out after the status hasn’t been confirmed for 21 days.
  4. You made the change yourself. The app doesn’t email you about your own edits.
  5. You’re a member of the host. Watch and registration emails skip members of the host organization. You get the “event changed” email instead, if you posted the event or are an admin.
  6. The event is hidden. Nothing goes out about an event while it’s hidden because of reports.
  7. You turned off message emails. With Messages from other coaches off, new messages only show in Messages, with the unread count next to it.
  8. Your Athletic Director didn’t get the schedule email. It goes out once a day, only on days the schedule changed, and the first one covers changes made after you added the address. Check the address under Email changes to on Our Season, and that you selected Save email addresses.
  9. Sign-up code or password reset. Wait a few minutes, check spam, and ask for a new one (Send a new code on the code step, or Forgot password? again). One address gets at most 5 of these an hour. If none arrive, the site’s email may be down; tell the site admin another way.

If several people are missing emails, the site admin can check the email outbox on the System page. See System.

  • You aren’t logged in. The form says “Log in to post an event.”
  • You don’t have the right role. The form says “To post events you need to be a contributor or admin of the organization hosting them.” Join your organization from the Welcome page, or ask its admin to make you a contributor on the members page. See Roles.
  • Your join request is still pending. Your organization’s admins approve requests. After 7 days they get a reminder. After 21 days with no answer the request closes and you get an email; ask a coach there to invite you, or ask to join again.
  • “New organizations can have up to 5 upcoming events.” Your organization isn’t verified yet. It verifies on its own when a member logs in with an email address on the organization’s website, or when one of its events has been up 14 days with no report. See New organizations and reports.
  • The form won’t save. Fix the fields marked in red. Every event needs at least one division; high school divisions need varsity or JV checked, and youth divisions need at least one age division.
  • The address hasn’t been located yet. The app finds each new or changed address in the background, usually within a few minutes. Until then, the event has no distance and isn’t on the map. The map says how many events aren’t on it yet.
  • The address couldn’t be found. If the street address can’t be matched, the app uses the center of its ZIP code and the distance is approximate. If neither works, the site admin sees it in a list to fix. Hosts can check the street address, city, and ZIP on the event.
  • Your starting point wasn’t recognized. The events page says “We couldn’t find …”. Enter a 5-digit ZIP code or a city like “Pierz, MN”.
  • Your organization has no location yet. The page says “We don’t have a location for your organization yet, so distances aren’t shown.” Enter a ZIP code or city instead, or ask your organization’s admin to check its address on the settings page.
  • You set a distance limit. With Within set, events without a location drop out of the results. Select the × in Within to clear it and see them.

See Distance and drive time.

Work through these in order:

  1. Filters. Clear the filters and the keyword box, and check the dates. Events that ended before today don’t show.
  2. Status. Search shows only Open and Near capacity events unless you pick others. Open More filters, then Status, and add Full or Cancelled to see those.
  3. Registration closed. Registration still open is on by default, so events whose registration deadline has passed are hidden. Open More filters and turn it off to see them. Clear all turns it back on.
  4. Level. High school, Middle school, and Youth and club show only events with a division at that level. Try All levels.
  5. Season. If Season is set, only events in that season show.
  6. Distance. A Within limit (under More filters) hides events farther away, and events whose address hasn’t been located yet.
  7. State. Each state has its own events page. Check that the state picker in the header shows the event’s state. With Within set, the search also covers nearby states.
  8. Hidden after reports. An event that several coaches reported is hidden until its host fixes it. Members of the host organization can still open it.
  9. Blackout dates. With Skip our blackout dates on (under More filters), events on your team’s blackout dates are hidden. Turn it off, or check the dates on Our Season.

See Search and filters.

Your event page says “Hidden for now: several coaches reported a problem with this event,” and My Events shows Hidden (reported). Three different people reported it within 60 days.

  1. Check the details people are likely to have flagged: the dates, the address, whether it duplicates another post, whether it’s still happening.
  2. Choose Edit, fix what’s wrong, and choose Save changes. The event is back up right away.

If it was already put back up once and got reported again, saving doesn’t bring it back. A site admin decides, and you get an email either way. See New organizations and reports.

The host chose to keep them private. Use Message the host on the event page (or Message this team on a post). You need to be logged in; Log in to message the host brings you back and opens the message box. The reply comes by email and in Messages. See Messages.

An invite says it’s for a different address

Section titled “An invite says it’s for a different address”

Invites only work for the email address they were sent to. The invite page says “This invite is for address, and you’re logged in as your address.” Choose Log out, then log in (or create an account) with the invited address. Or ask the admin to invite the address you use. See Invite page.

The Join the wait list button, in the Your Team panel on the event page, shows only when all of these are true:

  • The host turned on Allow a wait list for the event.
  • The event is Full. While it’s open or near capacity, there’s no wait list; contact the host.
  • The event hasn’t ended.
  • You’re a contributor or admin of an organization. View-only members and people without an organization can’t join.
  • Your team isn’t the host, and isn’t already on the list.

If you see “This event doesn’t have a wait list right now. Contact the host.”, the event changed status while you had the page open. See Wait list.

  • Calendar apps check feeds on their own schedule, often every few hours, and Google Calendar can take up to a day. The app itself refreshes a feed every 15 minutes. You can’t make the calendar app check sooner from Wrestling Aide.
  • You made a new calendar address. Making a new address on the Saved Searches page turns the old one off. Update the subscription in your calendar app with the new address.
  • The event dropped off. Watched-event feeds drop events a week after they end. Saved search feeds show what the search shows now, so an event that closed or no longer matches leaves the feed.
  • You imported instead of subscribing. Downloading an .ics file and opening it copies the events once. Use the calendar app’s “subscribe by URL” (or “From URL”) option with the feed address instead.

See Calendars.

Message What to do
The login asks for a Code from the email Your address isn’t confirmed yet. Enter the code from the newest “Confirm your email” message, or select Send a new code. Check spam if it’s missing.
“That email or password isn’t right.” Check both. The page says the same thing whether or not the email has an account.
“This account is locked after too many wrong tries. Reset your password to unlock it.” Select Forgot password? and choose a new password with the emailed link.
“That took a while. Enter your email to start again.” The login waited too long between steps. Enter your email again.
“That login didn’t finish. Try again, or log in another way.” Google or Microsoft didn’t finish the login. Try again, or use your email and password.
“Logging in isn’t available right now. Try again in a few minutes.” The login service is starting up or down. Wait a few minutes.
“This account has been turned off. Contact the site admin if you think that’s a mistake.” A site admin turned your account off. Contact them.

Forgot your password? Select Forgot password? on the login page, and we email you a link. Lost the phone with your authenticator app? Enter your email and password, then select Can’t use your authenticator? on the code step: a link by email removes the authenticator app. See Security. If you can’t get into your email either, the site admin can send a reset link, unlock the account, or remove the authenticator app.

  • The tab isn’t there, or I can’t change dates. Our Season shows once you’re an approved member of an organization. View members can see it; only contributors and admins can add or change dates. Check the organization switcher at the top if you belong to more than one.
  • Calculate is grayed out. Calculate needs the drive time and the time it works from. Pick the Host school from the list (a typed venue has no drive time), choose Bus stays or Bus goes back, and enter Arrive by for Bus leaves or Estimated finish for Bus returns. You can always type the bus times yourself.
  • Copy to next season says next season already has dates. The copy only works while next season is empty. Add dates under Next Season in the Our Season menu instead.

Tell us with Feedback at the bottom of the page (or Send Feedback in the menu at the top right) and choose A bug. Say what you did, what happened, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. See Getting around.
