What's new
The features each release added, newest first. Every release also has smaller fixes and improvements. After an update with new features, Wrestling Aide shows a short notice at the top of the page; select See what’s new to come here, or Close to put it away.
- A new name: Wrestling Aide. Same app, same account, same events; only the name changed.
- Iowa. Wrestling Aide now serves Iowa too, with its 2026-27 high school season filled in.
- Add it to your phone. On a phone, a small banner offers to put Wrestling Aide on your home screen so it opens like an app. Close it with the X if you’d rather not. See Getting around.
- History in plain words. An event’s History says who did what, and to which team: “added Jordan High School to the wait list.”
- Manage from My Events. Manage opens the event’s page, the same as its name. Edit is at the top there.
- Message a team on the wait list. One team in an event’s messages lists the wait list teams too.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Wait list open. A full event whose host keeps a wait list shows a Wait list open badge next to Full, on event lists, the event page, and the map. See Wait list.
- Opponents from a list. On Our Season, search for each opponent and pick it, or type a team that isn’t in Wrestling Aide. See Our Season.
- Where stays tidy. Once a date’s host school or venue is set, the form shows the place, with icons to change or remove it.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- A new look. Wrestling Aide has its own colors and lettering: a deep teal, bold condensed page titles, and a new app icon. Emails and the help site match.
- Event status at a glance. Open, Near capacity, Full, and Cancelled each have their own color on event lists, event pages, and map pins.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Messages with formatting. Make text bold or italic, add a bulleted or numbered list, or a link, from the bar above any message box. The formatting shows in Messages and in the email teams get. See Messages.
- Icons for small actions. Edit, remove, move up, and other actions repeated on each row are icons now; point at one, or tab to it, to see what it does. See Getting around.
- Save search takes less room. It’s a bookmark button in the results bar, next to Sort.
- Cleaner pages. Less explanatory text on each page; the ? button and the help have the details.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Give a wait list team a spot. When a team says yes, select Move to attending on its wait list entry. Each team on the list shows about how many wrestlers it brings, with a total above the list. Only you see the order of the list; teams see that they’re on it. See Wait list.
- Add a team from the top. On an event’s Teams Attending, Add a team sits next to Invite a team, and the search opens above the table.
- More rows per table. Tables still start at 50 rows a page; pick 100, 250, or 500 under Page Size. See Views and downloads.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Plan your season faster. On Our Season, events that fit your open dates are ranked by fit, with the reasons: your team went before, the drive, and the room left. A draft picks the best event for each open day; untick any you don’t want and add the rest as tentative dates. See Our Season.
- Girls’ events and entry fees at a glance. Event lists mark Girls only and Girls too events and show the entry fee. See Events page.
- Quick answers. On the busiest pages, the ? button opens a few short answers for that page, with a link to the full article. See Getting around.
- Hosts add teams to the wait list. When a coach calls or emails, or nobody from a team is on Wrestling Aide, add them yourself; they can be told their place and hear when spots open. See Wait list.
- Tables on phones. Edit and the other row buttons stay in view while the rest of the table scrolls.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- A menu button on phones. Pages with sections (an event, Account Settings, Our Season, your organization, Site Admin) show a button that names the page you’re on; tap it for the others. A short menu that fits on one line stays a row of links. See Getting around.
- Event sections without the clutter. On an event, every page except Overview shows just the event’s name and dates above it, so the page you picked fills the screen. See Event page.
- Messages like a text thread. Your messages sit on the right and theirs on the left, so it’s clear who wrote what.
- Full events with a wait list show in search. Teams can still get in line, so they’re listed without changing the Status filter. See Search and filters.
- Usage reports and error alerts for site admins. Turn on usage analytics (no cookies) and error reporting under Site Admin > Settings. See Settings.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Forms for your event’s teams. Send a pre-event survey (wrestlers per division, coaches, arrival) or your own questions, and read every team’s answers in one grid with totals. Wrestler counts fill in each team’s size. See Forms.
- Teams that aren’t on Wrestling Aide. Add an email contact for a team, and your messages, forms, reminders, and invites reach them by email. They answer forms and invites from the link, no account needed. See Teams not on Wrestling Aide.
- Invite any team. Invite a team on your event’s Teams Attending page invites a school or club, whether or not it posted on Teams Looking.
- To-dos and vendors. Keep your event’s to-do list (who’s doing what, by when), starting from a tournament checklist, with a reminder email before each is due. Keep your vendors on your organization’s page for every event and year. See To-dos and vendors.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Co-ops. Schools that wrestle as one team, like Scott West (Jordan and Belle Plaine), are one team on Wrestling Aide. Search for any of the schools to find it. See Co-ops.
- Message your event’s teams. Write to the teams attending, the wait list, both, or one team at once; each gets it in its own conversation in Messages, with an email. See Event page.
- Invite teams that are looking. Invite a team from your event’s Teams Looking page or from the Teams Looking board; it shows as Invite pending until the team accepts or declines. See Invites.
- Entry fees and times. Give the entry fee per wrestler, per wrestler with a team cap, or per team, and list the day’s times: doors open, weigh-ins, the first match, and any others you name.
- Edit an event in sections. Editing an event shows one part at a time from a menu on the left, and keeps your changes as you move between parts.
- Your team is on your own list. The host’s team is always listed under Teams Attending.
- Alerts are now called Saved Searches. The tab, the Save this search button, and the emails use the new name, so they’re easier to tell apart from the notification bell. See Saved searches.
- Private schools. Private, charter, and parochial schools that aren’t listed yet can be added by their coaches, and site admins can load a state’s private schools at once. See Add an organization.
- Years at your tournament. Hosts see how many years each team has come, to help decide who gets a spot. See Teams attending.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- The whole schedule on your school website. The website embed shows the events you host and the ones your team is going to. See Website embed.
- A weekly summary of alerts. Get one email on Mondays instead of each alert’s own emails.
- Simpler passwords. At least 10 characters, with no other rules.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Ask first. Removing, deleting, and ending things asks before it happens.
- A better first look. Visitors see open events near them first, with page titles and distances.
- One look across the app. The same headings, messages, and dates on every page.
- Help by task. The help is organized around what you’re trying to do.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- States turned on in the app. Site admins add the states the site serves under Site Admin > Settings.
- Our Season history as a table you can sort and filter.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
- Menus for each section. Event, organization, and site admin pages have their parts in a menu on the left.
- Previous seasons on Our Season.
- Bug fixes and improved usability.
